North American Cup Series - Vail GoPro Mountain Games 2024
Event Overview
The North American Cup Series hosted by USA Climbing is a series of climbing competitions across North America that call the continent's best athletes to compete head-to-head for prize money, bragging rights, and most importantly score points towards an invitation to Open Nationals.
The CU Climbing Team has several current athletes and alumni who compete in these cups and deserve coverage for their hard work!

Other North American Cups have multiple events but Vail only has Bouldering, so the following competitors represent the Bouldering results. To advance to the Semi-Finals, an athlete must score within the top 20 athletes in the Qualifiers. To advance to the Finals, an athlete must score within the top 6 athletes in the Semi-Finals

Anika Shoemaker and Francesco Military (Alumni) were two of many to make the Semi-Final round at Vail - a huge accomplishment in itself.

While none of our current athletes or alumni made the Finals round, we are beyond stoked for everyone who showed up and showed out. The Vail North American Cup is regarded as a crowd-favorite, especially for our team since it is practically in our backyard and takes place at the one and only GoPro Mountain Games. To anyone considering entering the Vail North American Cup, we highly encourage it. If competing at the Open Level is not for you, we recommend the CELSIUS Citizens Cup which also takes place during the GoPro Mountain Games and has a considerable amount of CU athletes and alumni competing every year.
